Sundown Estate, PE28

Sundown Estate is a 4,500-acre rural estate combining formal gardens, parkland, lakes, woodland and working farmland across a highly varied terrain. At its core is an 18th/19th-century country house set within 8.5 acres of established gardens, including herbaceous borders, rose gardens, mature specimen trees and a series of six follies designed by Peter Foster.

Beyond the formal gardens, the estate expands into extensive managed parkland, ancient woodland, wildflower meadows and a large network of hedgerows and water systems. The wider landscape includes several ponds, multiple reservoirs and a river running through parts of the estate, creating a strong mix of controlled and natural environments suitable for filming.

The working farm is a large-scale arable operation producing wheat, barley and other crops across expansive fields. It includes a mix of modern agricultural infrastructure and historic farm buildings, with grain stores, silos, barns and machinery yards reflecting both contemporary farming practices and traditional rural architecture.

The festival and event site is a fully developed production-ready environment with permanent infrastructure designed for large gatherings and creative use. This includes a permanent driftwood performance structure, contemplation towers set within woodland, and sculptural installations across the site. A distinctive repurposed shipping container bar can be relocated and reconfigured for shoots, alongside additional modular structures and event facilities. The area also includes a dedicated event field with strong access and extensive hardstanding for vehicles, crew and production setups.

Across the wider estate are a variety of additional buildings and locations, including a traditional thatched pub and older agricultural structures, as well as more contemporary estate buildings and historic village properties. These range in style from working rural architecture to characterful period buildings and provide a broad mix of backdrops across different eras.
