Filming on location in Sussex provides endless opportunities with the diversity in its landscape and undiscovered locations. Regarded as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the rolling Sussex Weald sees a carpet of grassy fields, ancient woodland and orchards with traditional farmsteads scattered across the valley slopes.

The Sussex Weald is home to some of the most beautiful countryside locations; including Brede Valley. Nestled between two steep ridges, the valley landscape offers a sense of tranquillity. Wood Farm, Little Hill Farm, Great Knights Farm and Hare Farm are all located in the Brede Valley and available for filming.

Another idyllic Wealden spot is the Rother Valley, where Quarrenden Farm can be found. This unique shoot location not only offers traditional apple orchards, grass fields, woodland and river meadows, it also borders the 14th-century Bodiam Castle, providing a wonderful backdrop for film productions.

Travelling down the county, the South Downs provide many miles of stunning scenery with its rolling chalk grassland. Hook Farm is a film location situated directly within the glorious South Downs National Park and comes complete with an old farmhouse, a yard-full of authentic flint barns and rustic props, all of which are surrounded by green pastures with views across rolling woodland.

Our locations in Sussex have seen an array of exciting productions, including the filming of music promotion videos, TV advertising and TV shows. The filming of singer-songwriter Pierre Kwender’s music promo for his single ‘Heartbeat’ was carried out at Sheep Farm. The farm not only offered fields of golden crops and wild grasses to film amongst but also provided the artist with the use of various props, including stacked straw bales and a tractor. The animal residents also teamed up as filming extras too.

Music promotion filming has also taken place for artists Ahmed Khan at Little Hill Farm, Sad Night Dynamite at Hall Farm and Steven Bamidele at Quarrenden Farm.

Tucked away from any civilisation, nor seen from any road, Great Knights Farm was one of the chosen shoot locations for filming of a new EE TV advertising project, featuring Kevin Bacon and I’m a Celebrity winner Scarlett Moffatt. Hiring a farm for filming certainly does have its bonuses, with its acres of space and on-hand farm owners, the large-scale production team were able to create the perfect festival scene for the campaign.

We have also arranged the hire of farms in Sussex for the filming of well-known TV programmes including ‘The Grand Tour’ and ‘Celebs on the Farm’.

Saddle Farm with its working farmyard, countryside setting and private tracks is another Sussex film location, previously used to host the client Auto Trader. The farm was able to provide the ‘industrial’ backdrop, use of private roads and plenty of hardstanding required by the crew to test drive SUV’s as part of their REV test.

The exclusive Evergreen Farm, based in East Sussex is a well-established, fully functioning nursery. On top of its selection of traditional agricultural buildings, it also features a world famous pinetum of evergreen conifers and a clear spring fed lake . Perched on the bank, overlooking the lake, is a contemporary, mirrored glass, modular building, which is also available for hire.
