Bare Roots Farm, NP25

Bare Roots Farm is a 200-acre working farm set within a secluded landscape of rolling fields, woodland and historic agricultural buildings. Combining productive farmland with well-preserved heritage architecture, the farm offers a wide range of backdrops, from traditional rural landscapes to characterful period buildings.

The farm comprises around 100 acres of arable land, with wheat fields bordered by six-metre wildflower margins and pollinator corridors that create a distinctive look across the landscape. Around 80 acres of pasture provide gently rolling grassland and far-reaching views. There is also 20 acres of woodland, including both ancient woodland and denser conifer plantations with tracks and rides running through them.

At the centre of the farm sits a collection of historic buildings, including a Grade II* listed farmhouse dating back to the 15th century, available for both interiors and exteriors. Other buildings include traditional stone and brick barns, a Welsh longhouse with its original sunken floor, a large event barn and a range of agricultural buildings spanning several centuries.

The farmhouse and event barn can provide crew space for smaller shoots, while extensive hardstanding areas around the farmyard are suitable for larger unit bases. Electricity, water and toilet facilities are available on site as well. Local catering can be arranged through the farm, alongside a range of nearby suppliers. Accommodation options include local pubs with rooms, a variety of hotels, B&Bs and holiday lets within a short drive.

Newport, Cardiff, Bristol and Gloucester are all within approximately 40 minutes by car, while London can be reached in around 2.5 hours. Rail services from London connect to Newport, Bristol and Abergavenny, with onward taxi transfers to the farm.
