Cobble Farm, TQ11

Set in the foothills of Dartmoor, Cobble Farm comes complete with a Georgian farmhouse, ancient stone barns, rolling countryside and the River Mardle running through the land.

The Georgian-fronted farmhouse retains plenty of original character, including an oak-panelled drawing room, large Dartmoor fireplaces and traditional interiors. The surrounding courtyard is particularly distinctive, with a cluster of large Dartmoor stone barns arranged in a U-shape around their partly cobbled yard. Dating mainly from the 19th century, the barns include original stables and agricultural spaces, with a central stone feature adding to the character of the setting.

Beyond the buildings, a historic drift lane runs through the farm, originally used to move livestock. The private gravel drive is enclosed by high hedges, while the river, ancient woodland, wildflower areas and open fields provide a range of natural backdrops. A small tumble-down barn, modern field shelters and equestrian arena add further variety.
