Featheridge Farm, CA7
Featheridge Farm’s key feature is a substantial, empty Grade II listed farmhouse built in 1824, set deep within 310 acres of working farmland in Cumbria. Approached via a private half-mile tarmac driveway, the house feels grand and isolated, sitting elevated within the landscape and surrounded by open fields and rolling countryside. The position offers long, uninterrupted views: across farmland towards the Lake District to the front, and over the Solway to Scotland.
The main farmhouse is largely a blank canvas and remains furnished, retaining an old-fashioned but well-kept character. Interiors include multiple reception rooms, bedrooms and service spaces, with period details such as service bells, a service staircase and traditional layouts still intact. Close by sits an empty red brick former servants’ house, also available as a blank canvas, offering additional standalone interior and exterior filming potential.
Alongside the house sits a farmyard of red sandstone buildings with oak beams and slate roofs, many of which have been untouched for over 50 years, creating an authentic and timeworn agricultural setting. Away from the main yard, additional isolated and derelict buildings add further texture and variety.
The surrounding land is actively farmed, with a mix of grassland and crops including wheat, barley, maize and turnips. Strips of dense woodland cut through the landscape, and a small stream adds a subtle natural feature. With its scale, privacy and preserved character, Featheridge Farm offers a strong sense of history and authenticity, well-suited to productions seeking a traditional northern farmhouse, historic farmyard or expansive rural backdrop.
