Gingerbread Farm, SN14
Straight out of a fairy tale, Gingerbread Farm is a secluded rural location centred around a rare 19th-century cottage, originally built as part of the Methuen estate. It’s a distinctive Strawberry Gothic-style hunting lodge with decorative valance boards, gargoyles, wide overhanging eaves and a coat of arms above the entrance. The exterior is clad in soft grey tufa, giving the property a unique appearance rarely found elsewhere. Interiors throughout retain a traditional cottage feel with so much storybook charm. Close to the lodge is a separate annex with a balcony and wood-clad rotunda, as well as additional pavilion-style structures, woodland sheds and workshops positioned away from the main cottage location.
Surrounded by ancient woodland, rolling valleys and wildflower meadows, the exquisite architectural character of the main buildings are positioned perfectly in a secluded spot surrounded by natural, unscathed features including bluebell woods, ponds, streams, and isolated woodland buildings.
