Hermitage Farm, RH5

Hermitage Farm is a hidden off-grid location with two isolated dwellings set within woodland and fields, yet within 30 miles of film studios. Tucked away behind a gated entrance and approached via a tree-lined track, the site boasts an undiscovered timbered cabin in the woods, as well as a two-bedroom cottage completely on its own in the field.

The buildings are what set Hermitage Farm apart. Designed by architect Renate Prince, the cottage has a distinctive modernist style and sits empty, offering flexible interior and exterior backdrops. Deeper in the woods, the lived-in cabin provides a more rugged, characterful contrast, with interiors full of props and a truly off-grid feel. Together, they offer a mix of stylised architecture and raw, natural setting, ideal for productions seeking a place that’s a world away from civilisation.

  • Modernist two-bedroom farmhouse (interiors & exteriors, empty)
  • Woodland cabin with raw, lived-in interiors (interiors & exteriors)
  • Tree-lined private access track
  • Ancient woodland with clearings and tracks
  • Large lawned garden blending into a forest
  • Flexibility with set dressing, and potential for full takeovers

FACILITIES AT THE LOCATION

Crews can base themselves within the cottage or cabin, both offering kitchen and toilet facilities. Parking is available along the access track or nearby, with additional options via a neighbouring field for larger setups if required. The site is off-grid, so productions will need to bring in power, although a generator might be available. Catering can be arranged on site by the owner, and additional local options are available nearby.
