Wakewater Lodge, GL7

Wakewater Lodge is a private lake location with a striking Swiss-style log house set directly on the water’s edge. Accessed via a long private track, the large lake is seven acres in total, with the lake house, woodland and a further collection of waterside buildings arranged around the shoreline.

The additional structures include a small simple cabin with a wood-burning stove, a boathouse and a small lakeside wooden hut nicknamed ‘the clubhouse’ on the far side of the water. Together, they offer a range of different possible backdrops all within sight of the lake, and all within a compact, self-contained location.

Smaller crews may be able to use areas within the main house by arrangement, while an external loo is available near the entrance. For larger productions, there is substantial hardstanding near the gate and additional parking space, providing practical areas for unit bases, support vehicles and catering.

The boathouse can also be utilised as a simple crew space, with electricity available via external power connections. Supermarkets, takeaways and additional services are within. ten minute drive and overnight accommodation is available nearby, including local B&Bs, self-catering cottages and hotels.

Wakewater Lodge is located in the Cotswolds with good access from London and the South West. The nearest major rail connection is Swindon, a short taxi ride from the property, while coach services from London run to nearby Cirencester with onward bus or taxi connections available.

By road, the location is approximately two hours from Central London, around 50 minutes from Oxford, and one hour from Bath and Bristol.
