Tawny Estate, BD23
Tawny Estate is a vast, 3,000-acre country estate reimagined as a nature recovery project. Rolling hills, sweeping valleys, moorland, rivers, lakes, and ancient woodlands create a dramatic, ever-changing backdrop, while secluded cabins, historic cottages, and elegant interiors add a sense of timeless charm.
The estate is dotted with 20 houses, cottages, and holiday lets, offering an incredible range of interiors and exteriors. From untouched farmyards frozen in time, to water mills, modern contemporary architecture, and a historic manor dating from 1532, there is a striking mix of period character and versatile spaces.
Across the landscape, there are secluded barns, greenhouses, walled gardens, stables, and sheds, while outdoor features include a wild swimming lake with jetty and boathouse, a stone circle, waterfalls, woodland sauna, bridges, and hidden tracks. Rolling pastures, orchards, and a market garden provide authentic working farm settings, with sheep, cattle, and vintage machinery also on the farm.
The estate includes 1,250 acres of moorland rewilding land, now boasting abundant wildlife, alongside farm areas from the 1700s with unspoilt sections, and post-war expansion areas.
With its sheer scale, variety, and epic appeal, Tawny Estate is ready for full takeovers and large productions. From dramatic high viewpoints to intimate woodland clearings, from historic interiors to open, wild spaces, it offers endless possibilities as film and stills sets.
