You might think these cows were hired into a studio to shoot this film. No! The crew and cast of Elvie came to the farm to find the genuine article for milking cows.Collaboration, flexibility and an experimental approach resulted in the director, farmer and cows finding a way to make it work. The welfare of the cows was always put first, and with a careful transition from their normal day’s routine to being filmed “on set”, the animals relaxed into their roles, and the day’s filming was a great success.
