Go green with envy for these new sustainable farms

The LATEST 3 sustainable-conscious locations are here

As sustainability becomes a bigger part of conversations across the screen and agricultural industries, we’re working harder with more productions in supporting wider environmental goals.

At Farm Locations, we’re fortunate to work with owners who are actively investing in the bigger, longer-term picture to contribute to a healthier planet. From regenerative farming practices and habitat restoration initiatives to low-input growing and renewable energy harvesting, farms are diverse in their benefits for a sustainable everyday life.

Here are three of our NEWEST farms where thoughtful land and farming management go hand in hand.

Briar Farm, Cotswolds

NEW + ORGANIC

New to the fold, Briar Farm is managed in an exemplary sustainable way:

🌱 Organic beef herd and 100% pasture fed
🌱 Flower-rich grassland, gardens and traditional watermeadows
🌱 No ploughing to keep carbon locked in
🌱 Homegrown timber to fuel onsite biomass heating
🌱 On site solar PV for renewable power
🌱 Several conservation partnerships and advanced environmental schemes
🌱 Sensitively preserved buildings

Witness the revival of flora, fauna, wildlife and soil on Broar Farm, whilst producing delicious, high-quality beef for our dining tables.

It’s ready for hires with us.

Hounds Tongue Estate, Surrey

NEW + REGENERATIVE

Named after a rare species of plant that’s thriving on an estate with biodiversity at its core.

🌱Regenerative farming practices across its food production and land management
🌱 100% pasture-fed beef herd
🌱 Conservation of the last hop garden in Surrey
🌱 Chalk downland, heathland, ancient woodland and restored watercourses
🌱 A team of local botanists, ornithologists, amphibians, reptiles, and fungi groups, nurturing and growing a diverse habitat rich with rare native species

This is another location where farming, nature and conservation thrive in harmony. And where sustainable-conscious productions will have a field day shooting here.

Potterdown Farm, Somerset

NEW + CONSERVED

Potterdown Farm is an isolated, working farm set in the Exmoor National Park, with the wide, winding River Exe running through.

🌱 Over 30 years in environmental stewardship schemes
🌱 Low-intensity, nature-led land management with minimal inputs
🌱 Heather moorland, ancient woodland, scrub, pasture, hedgerows and stone banks
🌱 Habitat restoration and wildlife-friendly farming practices
🌱 Historic, well-preserved farmstead including a 16th-century Grade II listed Somerset longhouse
🌱 Traditional stone farm buildings set within an unspoilt landscape

Choose thoughtfully, and shoot at Potterdown Farm.

Why it matters

There are many ways productions can reduce their impact, and choosing where to film is one of them.

By working with farms like these, productions can support owners who are actively improving the world they live in, responsibly.

And, of course, brilliant backdrops for filming are included.

If you’d like to find out more about any of these locations, or discuss a brief, please do get in touch with us.
